1479679 Stud and socket fastenings H E MAZUR 28 Oct 1974 [29 Oct 1973] 46538/74 Heading E2B A stud and socket fastening comprises a ring member 16, Fig. 1, having an arcuate portion 17 greater than a semi-circle and having spaced-apart portions 18, 19 which extend to legs 31, 32 respectively, the latter each having an end 36 or 37 and the ends 36, 37 being pressed into a sleeve 38, the latter also serving for the attachment of one end of a strap 42 to the ring member 16; and a stud 23 having a dimension 24 which can be forced through an entryway 21 formed between the portions 18, 19 of the ring member 16 so as to snap into a space 22 defined by the arcuate portion 17, a dimension 25 which, when the ring member 16 is moved to the position shown in Fig. 4, retains the stud within the arcuate portion 17, and having a head 28, Fig. 1, which when the stud is mounted on a member, prevents the stud from being withdrawn axially from the portion 17. In a modification the stud is rotatable within the arcuate portion of the ring member and has a knurled head provided with a mark for indicating the position for attachment or removal of the ring member. |
