A system for prodn. of coated materials or layered materials consisting of a foamed material coating and a paper strip base is constructed such that a foamed material strip is fed from a spool to a cutting device which cuts slits across the strip. The strip is fed to a stretching device so that the slits are widened. A sensor device is used to meter the stretchable width of the strip. A paper strip is fed from another spool and the twin strips pass to a heating device where the foamed material is melted onto the paper prior to rolling and coiling on a spool.
