<p>Method for mfr. of crankshafts from steel billets which are heated prior to shaping is carieed out with two revolving hearth furnaces which move in pilgrim step operation; while one furnace is in the discharge position, the other is in the charging position. Pref. charging and discharge of both furnaces is performed with a single machine, thus reducing the required expenditure, and control of the furnaces is coordinates with cyclical control of the whole appts. The arrangement is space-saving, thus considerably reducing required expenditure, and also utilisation of the hearth surface area is increased. The revolving hearth furnaces are charged in one, tow or three rows according to the length of billet.</p> |
