Reusable super:8 cine casette - is fitted with clip fastening for housing and uses removable spools to allow film changing

The super-8 cine cassette has a sealed housing made from two plastics mouldings which are clipped together using interlocking seams and ridges (13, 14). These allow the cassette to prised apart to remove the film, and snapped together again with a fresh film. The system is designed to allow machines to open the cassette and remove the film spools. The spool drive is removed from the cassette when opened to allow access to the spools. The drive hub is slotted into the spools by keyed shafts.
