<p>Brussels sprouts are removed from the stalks by a rotatable assembly of plates between which the salks are allowed to pass and which are mutually arranged in the form of a cone or pyramid frustrum, in the upper surface of which an opening is provided for the transport of the stalks. The Brussels sprouts are removed by the plate or plates of the assembly. The plate assembly esp. contains a series of plates each of disc form, pref. mounted resiliently so that the opening which they form and their angle of inclination can change automatically in accordance with the pressure exerted by the stalks.</p> |
