Amino-thiazolyl-mercapto acetamido-cephalosporin derivs. - antibacterials prepd. e.g. from (2)-amino-(5)-mercapto-(1,3,4)-thiadiazole and (7)-bromo-acetamido-cephalosporanic acid

Cephem derivs. of formula (I) and their salts are new: In the formula A is a gp. (II) and B is -OCO- Me, or a gp. (III) or (IV): R1 and R2 are H or alkyl R3 or R1 and R2 may together form an opt. substd. ring opt. contg. other heteroatoms, and R3 and R4 are H or alkyl. (I) can be used to treat bacterial infections. Unit doses are 50-1000 (pref. 100-500) mg (I) per application. (I) may be used simultaneously with other antibiotics e.g. penicillins and cephalosporins and with cpds. which have an effect on the symptoms of bacterial infections e.g. antipyretics, analgesics and antiphlogistics. A typical cpd. (I) is 7-((1-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazol-5-yl)-mercaptoacetamido)-cephalospor- anic acid.
