<p>1512583 Vehicle door lock VOLKSWAGENWERK AG 13 Aug 1976 [16 Aug 1975] 33748/76 Heading E2A A safety lock for a motor vehicle door comprises a pivotal lever 1 formed of bent wire mounted by means of eyes 2, 3 to housing 4 secured to the front surface of a door, the lever 1 having a lower end 6 engaging a safety lever (not shown) of the lock mechanism and an upper end 7 engaging in the axial bore of a socket member 8 to form a plug-in pin and socket connection with actuating rod 12 which may be moved up for unlocking and down for locking by knob 14. With the actuation in position and the connector mounted in the door, the plugin connector may be made simply by entering the pivotal lever in the door to the place of its mounting and may be broken simply by the reverse movement of the pivotal lever to withdraw it from the door. In a further embodiment (not shown) the axis of the connector is coincident with the pivotal axis of lever 1.</p> |
