The combination shower and fire extinguisher comprises a spray rose (1) connected to the water mains (6) by a long flexible hose (2). The hose can be normally coiled in a housing (4), with a locking device normally maintaining a set length outside the housing for use as a shower. In case of fire, the locking device is released, unwinding the coiled portion. The design affords a means of getting rapidly and effectively to a fire with large quantities of water, wherever it breaks out in the house.
