A vehicle safety belt is intended for use with children. The belt (10) has an upper part (11) and a lower one (12). At their ends are fixing lugs (11a) (12a). At the other end (11b) of the upper belt (11) is a buckle (13) with a loose lug around which goes the end (12b) of the belt (12). In pulling the end (12b) down the belts are tightened and held by friction on the end (12b). The upper belt (11) is double. Below the lug (11a) a return piece (14) is sewn at regular spacings on the belt (11). In sewing the stop (14) length is important to give easily accessible stops (16) for the diagonal belt (4) by passing its end (4a) around the lug buckle (17).
