A punching machine comprises punches 10 each operable by a punch bail 40 through a selectable interposer 22 which is connected to a control member 16 by a flexible coupling 24 which allows longitudinal and up-and-down movement to the interposer. The member 16 is the armature of a holding coil 18 and is selectively released by a coil 20. The punch bail 40 is operable by a cam 44, the punches are restored by means of a cam 48 and the armature 16 is restored by means of a cam 50. The cam 48 is associated with spring-influenced followers 66 each mounted on a pivotal lever 60, ends 68 of adjacent levers 60 being provided between shoulders 70, 72 at opposite sides of a punch. The punches co-operate with a die 28 and each provided with a die stripper 26.</p> |
