The binary output of the comparator in dependence on the designated reference sets a shift register sequencer 40 to count up or down, a pulse from a clock 60. The stages of the register sequentially increment, or decrement, load controllers 50A-50N. An inhibitor is enabled when the value of the input signal is between the upper and lower references to prevent clockpulses being fed to the shift register 40 and thereby produce a "dead-band". The outputs of the shift register are also applied to the reference device 30 to apply an anticipating feedback to the references, while maintaining a fixed dead-band.</p> |
