<p>An apparatus for investigating the effect of biologically active substances on microorganisms distributed on a layer of gel comprises a dish with the gel layer applied onto its base; the dish has a number of vertical walls subdividing it into long, narrow rectangular compartments. The dish comprises one of more chambers each subdivided into compartments open at one of the narrow ends to a long corridor, so that the gel field in each of the compartments continues uninterruptedly into a further gel field extending along this corridor. Used for investigating the actions on micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses, bacteriophages and fungi of many substances having a negative or positive influencing action, including vitamins, amino acids, foodstuffs and other micro-organisms.</p> |
