The friction clutch has a housing (1) supporting at its inside a diaphragm spring (3) which urges a pressure plate (4) toward a driven clutch plate. The spring contacts the pressure plate on an annulus radially outside the reaction annulus at which the spring engages the housing. Radially inside the reaction annulus the spring is centred on the housing by three axial tabs (5) each riveted to the housing and extending through a radial slot of the spring. At the side of the spring remote from the housing the tabs are connected by a sheet metal ring (6) having lugs which retain the spring at the inside of the housing.
