The unit comprises a framework supporting a fan to draw in the impure air, a reception chamber for the air joined to the fan outlet >=1 sacks to collec the dust etc. and a filter sleeve. The filter sleeve is held in position by a frame which can be shaken to remove the dust from the sleeve. The appts. is suitable for use in workshops where materials such as plastics, metals and wood are being worked. The unit facilitates the cleaning of the filters and thus increases the efficiency of the unit and prolongs the life of the filters.
