The used bricks are fed into a machine via supply channels where they are cleaned by scraper members in the form of wire spirals which are mounted on rotatable rods (2) which make up the sleeve of a rotatable drum (1). The drum is mounted on a movable substructure and has an open feed-in and an open delivery side. Suitable drive units are provided to rotate the drum about the core line while further devices are provided to rotate the rods about their core line. This machine can also be used in conjunction with a machine for removing plaster bricks from plaster.
