<p>PURPOSE:Carbon is added to and O2 or air is blown into molten state desulfurized slag which has been tapped after desulfurization. The process uniformalizes and stabilizes desulfurized slag components to provide products for effective utilization. CONSTITUTION:Molten pig iron 2 in the ladel 1 is desulfurized by using Na base desulfurizing agent such as soda ash. Desulfurized slag is formed and floated 3, which is transferred into the slag pot 4. Into the slag 3 of the pot 4, silica sand brick scraps are added and the nozzles 5 are inserted, from which O2 or air is blown for about several minutes to several ten minites. The treated slag 3 is then removed from the pot 4, cooled in air, and crushed into the adusted size of 25 mm. The resultant desulfurized granulues satisfy JIS spec. for road base use, one axis compressional strength of greater than 12 kg/cm<2>, absolute dry specific gravity greater than 2.4 and water absortion less than 40.</p> |
