A polymer containing at least 80 mole per cent of <FORM:0982777/C3/1> wherein Y is alkyl and X is H or alkyl, is crosslinked by heating with a polysulphonazide R(SO2N3)x, wherein R is an organic radical inert in the cross-linking reaction and x is an integer greater than 1. The specified polymers are derived from propylene, isobutylene, methylbutene, methylpentene, ethylene and isoprene; and the preferred cross-linking agents are 1,10-decane-, 1,3-benzene- and 1,6-hexane-bis(sulphonazides). Fillers may be present, e.g. calcium carbonate, iron oxide, carbon black, silica, calcium silicate and alumina, as well as other conventional additives. The examples illustrate the enhanced dyeability of the cross-linked products. |
