PURPOSE:To absorb the shock subjected to machineries due to the curling habit of the tail end of the outgoing strip, and to prevent the breakage and wear, by installing the free roll in front of the deflector roll. CONSTITUTION:The strip is caught between the inch roll 4 and the deflector roll 3, and is fed into the mill for starting the regular rolling work. When the tail end of the strip is going out, the strip is caught between the free roll 11 and the pinch roll 12 and undergoes the reverse bending effect; hereby, the tail end of the strip possessing the curling habit is flattened. Moreover, when the strip is uncoiled, and when the tail end of the strip goes out, the fulcrum bracket 13 of the pinch roll 4 is vertically moved with the cylinder 14 in order to change the position of the pinch roll 4; hereupon, when the strip is uncoiled, the pinch roll 4 is located at just above the deflector roll 3, and when the tail end of the strip goes out, the pinch roll 4 is located at approximate middle position between the deflector roll 3 and the free roll 11. |
