PURPOSE:To simplify the mechanism and to eliminate the restriction on an indication position, by converting the displacement of a remaining quantity detecting lever into a resistance value, and indicating a remaining quantity through a digital output of an A/D converter in conformity with said resistance value. CONSTITUTION:The remaining quantity detecting lever 3 is provided to a shaft 2 that is parallel to the recording paper 1 and has at one end thereof a potentiometer 5 capable of acting as a veriable resistor and having a working element 4, the meter 5 being connected to an electric source +V, whose connected point being connected to the A/D converter 7. As the recording paper 1 is used and the diameter thereof becomes small, according to the rotated displacement of the lever 3 the meter 5 is varied, so that the displacement of the lever 3 is converted into a change in the resistance value of the meter 5 to vary the voltage of the contact. A digital output is generated from the converter 7 to light LRDs 10 correspondingly to the remaining quantity of the recording paper 1 to indicate the remaining quantity. |
