PURPOSE:To obtain a tape measure which has graduations which are durable and are recognized visually well and is easy to damp, by printing directly graduation display parts on a minutely rugged face formed on the surface of the tape measure. CONSTITUTION:A random and minutely rugged face 4 is formed on a curved inside face 2 of a stainless tape measure 1 to which the curving inclination is given in the breadthwise direction for the purpose of holding linearity. It is desirable that this rugged face has a napply shape, and the curved inside face 2 is polieshed roughly by a gruinder which has the circumferental face coated with rubbing grains, a wire brush, or the like to manufacture the rugged face continuously. Graduation display parts 5 (line display parts 6 and number display parts 7) are printed on the rugged face, and thus, these display parts are durable against mutual friction for the use of this tape measure even if an ordinary ink is used. Since the rugged face reflects the light irregularly, displays are read easily. Further, in case that the tape measure is fixed to an optional position, it is easy to damp because of the rugged face. |
