PURPOSE:To extract a formed aldehyde as an addition product into an aqueous solution and to separate it from a catalyst, by hydroformylating a nonconjugate diolefin with large carbon number, etc. in the presence of a rhodium complex catalyst, bringing the reaction solution into contact with an aqueous solution of an alkali bisulfite. CONSTITUTION:A >=6C nonconjugate or >=7C nonconjugate unsaturated aldehyde is hydroformylated in an organic solvent unmiscible with water in the presence of a rhodium complex catalyst (e.g., rhodium triarylphosphine complex), the reaction solution is brought into contact with an aqueous solution of alkali bisulfite to give an aldehyde, which as a bisulfite addition alkali compound is extracted into an aqueous solutionm and separated from the organic solvent containing the catalyst. An organic alicyclic compound is preferable as the raw material. EFFECT:Hardly causing the loss and reduction in activity of the catalyst component, and it can be reused. USE:A raw material for a curing agent for polyester, polyamide, epoxy resin, etc. |
