PURPOSE:To improve feed performance of thin paper in an electronic copying machine paper feeder having a separating means with intermediate rollers, by constituting the friction torque, between separator rollers and the intermediate rollers smaller than friction torque, between the separator and feed rollers, at interposition of a sheet of paper, while larger than at interposition of two sheets of paper. CONSTITUTION:Friction torque TM, between separator rollers 21a, 21b and intermediate rollers 23a, 23b, is set smaller than friction torque Tp, transmitted through a sheet of paper between the separator rollers 21a, 21b and feed rollers 18a, 18b, further larger than friction torque Tpp, when two sheets of paper are interposed between the separator rollers 21a, 21b and the feed rollers 18a, 18b. Under this condition, if each roller is rotated in directions respectively of arrow heads F, H, G, a slip is not caused between the separator roller 21 and the feed roller 18, while a slip is caused between the separator roller 21 and the intermediate roller 23, and a double paper feed can be surely separated. In this constitution, especially even the thin paper can be surely separated and fed. |
