The invention relates to a process for processing a biomass, such as manure, faeces or slaughterhouse wastes, by anaerobic degradation in an alkaline medium to give biogas. To achieve more intensive processing of the biomass, in particular to increase the biogas production by eliminating the floating and settling layers, a depositing biomass settling layer is stirred up at certain intervals. The stirred-up biomass settling layer is sucked up and pressed onto a floating biomass layer which is being formed. |
