PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a magnetic flux feedback loop by a method wherein a variable frequency/variable voltage power source and a variable DC voltage power source are controlled in accordance with the output signal of an operational element calculating a field current command value and that of an operational element calculating armature current command values. CONSTITUTION:An operational element 14 calculates a field current command value from a torque current i'T contributing to torque generation and a magnetizing current i0 corresponding to a magnetic flux interlinking with an armature winding. Operational elements 11-13 calculate the magnitude i* of an armature current and the phase phi0 of the armature current to a magnetic pole position from the torque current i'T, the magnetizing current i0, and the field current if. An operational element 8 calculates armature current command values i*a, i*b, i*c based on a magnetic pole position detection signal phi2 from the magnitude of the calculated armature current and phase. A variable frequency/variable voltage power source 2 and a variable DC voltage power source 3 are controlled respectively in accordance with the calculated field current command value and armature current command values. |
