PURPOSE:To obtain a stable binary-coded signal from an external appearance inspecting device for medicine capsules, etc., by adding or subtracting a delay differential signal to or from an original video signal and emphasizing the leading or trailing edges of the video signal. CONSTITUTION:The video signal VS supplied to a terminal T is supplied, as it is, to one terminal of a differential amplifier 8 and also supplied to the other terminal after being delayed by a delay circuit 7. The differential amplifier 8 calculates their difference; and this signal E and said delayed signal DV are summed up by an adder 9 to obtain a signal F, which is supplied to a comparator 5'. The binary coding of the part (b) of the video signal is carried out by the comparator 5' with regard to the part F' of a waveform F and the binary coding of the part (a) of the video signal is performed by a comparator 5 with regard to the part E' of a delayed signal F; and the resulting signals are put together by a binary-coded output synthesizer (OR circuit) 10. Consequently, the dark part (b) of the video signal is improved in such a manner that trailing edges are emphasized like the F' of the signal F, so a stable range for the binary coding is expanded to perform stable binary coding operation. |
