PURPOSE:To improve load capacity and stability with easy construction, by connecting a part of a narrow old hull, which remains by cutting away a forward portion of the old hull, on the stern side with a wide newly constructed hull on the bow side, and thereafter attaching bulge-like structures onto both sides of the narrow hull. CONSTITUTION:A wide newly constructed hull 1 on the bow side is connected at c with a part of a narrow old hull 2, which remains by cutting away a forward portion of the old hull and includes an engine section, on the stern side. Then, in order to match the width of both hulls, bulge-like structures 3a and 3b are attached onto a part of both sides of the old hull 2 to utilize the interior spaces thereof as a buoyancy tank. With this constitution, the stability of a ship may be improved and the same degree of performance as with a wide newly constructed ship may be obtained with easy design and construction. |
