In a rotating screen stencil, there is at least one sealing strip which surrounds the screen stencil in the region of its outer cylindrical surface and which consists of a thin-walled material, for example of a plastic foil. This sealing strip prevents the ink or another coating medium from flowing out onto the article, at least in the region of the applicator device of the screen stencil. A number of sealing strips which are arranged releasable and shiftably over the length of the stencil can be provided. The sealing strips can be put under tension in order to guarantee a perfect sealing. <IMAGE>
