PURPOSE:To provide titled copolymer of specific solubility and fluidity, having high heat and impact resistance and settability, comprising a 4-methylpentene-1 homo- or coplymer block and a copolymer block consisting of ethylene and another alpha-olefin. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer comprising (A) 50-80pts.wt. of a 4- methylpentene-1 homopolymer block or copolymer block containing >=60wt% of 4-methylpentane-1 such as a random copolymer one consisting of 4-methylpentene-1 and another 2-12C alpha-olefin and (B) 20-50pts.wt. of a random copolymer block containing 30-85wt% of ethylene and consisting of ethylene and 4-methylpentene-1 or another 3-12C alpha-olefin. This copolymer has the following characteristic values: (1) hot xylene insolubles: 0.1-50wt% (2) fluidity at 250 deg.C under a load of 30kg: 5-5,000(cc/secX10<-3>) (using Koka-shiki Flow Tester with a cylinder diameter of 10mm., an orifice diameter of 1mm., and an orifice height of 2mm.).
