PURPOSE:To obtain a torque detector which is small-sized and has a simple structure by fetching the torque between two shafts on the same shaft as a liquid pressure from a rotating body by a torque - liquid pressure transducer in the shaft, and measuring it by a pressure detector provided on a static body. CONSTITUTION:When a rotational force is applied to an input shaft 1, and a load is applied to an output shaft 2, a torque transferred to the shaft appears, and a force of twist operates between the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 2. This force is applied to a piston 4 as a force in the axial direction by an inclined end face 2a of the output shaft 2 and a ball 6, and transmitted as a hydraulic pressure to a pressure detector 10 of a static part. In this state, when the shape of the end face of the output shaft 2 is determined so that a phase difference of the output shafts 1, 2 is proportional to a displacement in the revolving shaft direction of the ball 6, the ball contacts the end face of the output shaft 2 at a constant angle theta1 in the rotating direction, therefore, a force P1 in the revolving shaft direction applied to the ball 6 is proportional to a rotating direction P2, and the force P2 in the rotating direction applied to the ball 6 is proportional to a torque T. Also, a hydraulic pressure P3 operating on the piston 4 is also proportional to the torque T, therefore, the torque T is obtained by measuring the hydraulic pressure P3 by the pressure detector 10. |
