PURPOSE:To enhance printing speed and increase quantity of printing, by a method wherein a plurality of thermal heads are fitted to an operating sliding shaft rod provided orthogonally to the feeding direction of a printing paper, and the thermal heads are reciprocated as one body. CONSTITUTION:The operating sliding shaft rod 3 is provided orthogonally to the feeding direction of the printing paper 1 controlledly fed by a paper-feeding roller 2, and an arbitrary number of thermal heads 4 are fitted to the shaft rod 3 at a predetermined interval. The thermal heads 4 are connected to each other by connecting rods 6, a thermal transfer tape 5 is sequantially supplied between the thermal heads 4 and the printing paper 1, and the thermal heads 4 and a mechanism for the tape 5 are scanned as one body in a horizontal direction orthogonal to the feeding direction of the printing paper 1. The recorder has a recording capability of a number of times of that of a recorder comprising a single thermal head, the number being equal to the number of the thermal heads in the recorder. |
