PURPOSE:To control easily the stop of a spindle in the axial direction at the completion of chucking by chucking both ends of a roll to be processed by a roll chuck rotating means and rotating the roll at a low speed in case of printing and at a high speed in case of developing. CONSTITUTION:The roll R to be processed is arranged between a pair of separated spindles 102, and the spindles 102 are approached each other and driven by a spindle supporting and driving means 101. At first, a pair of chucks 105 are engaged with axial holes or axial parts on the end parts of the roll R to be processed, to make the roll R chucked state. At the time of engagement, a motor 101a is not stopped and a pair of arms 101d, 101d continuously compress springs 107 pressing the chucks 105 so as to approach the springs each other to drive the chucks 105. Consequently, a pair or liquid protecting caps 103 are abutted to the end surfaces of the roll R to be precessed, and when the liquid protecting cap 103 arranged on the side excited by a spring 106 is moved to the arm side relatively by a prescribed distance, a sensor (not shown) detects the movement and the motor 101a is stopped to complete the chuck of the roll R. |
