PURPOSE:To provide a feed leveler which adapts itself to a carousel type uncoiler and reduces required space by the constitution in which the feed levelers provided respectively on the right and left of a strip are alternately sidways shifted and lifted. CONSTITUTION:A coil 1 carried into a feed leveler by a coil car 17 is set at the point A of a carousel type uncoiler 16 and the front end is treated with pinch rolls 9 and a crop shear 10 then the strip 7 straightened by passing the same thrugh a feed leveler body 3 via a traveling guide 12 is passed via a traveling quide 14 through pinch rollers 6. The above-mentioned feed leveler body 3 placed on a slide base 25 is moved from the position C to D of a frame body 3 by a lifting device 18'. The body 3 standing by in the position E is further shifted off-line by a moving device (not shown) and is moved to the position C by a lifting device 18 so that the succeeding coil 1 is treated. |
