The invention relates to a roller shutter for a door, a window and other openings, composed of a screen (curtain) formed by slats which are wound on or unwound from a shaft driven by some control means such as a strap, a chain, a rod assembly or an electric motor and held by lateral flanges, of guiding rails in which slide the lateral ends of the slats of the screen (curtain) and which are fastened in the masonry of the door, the window and the other openings and of a casing in which are housed the shaft, the flanges and the control means. This roller shutter is characterised in that it comprises a second shaft 17 parallel to the shaft 15 for winding and/or for unwinding the screen (curtain) 2 and placed downstream from the latter, this second shaft 17 being provided with driving means 19, 20, 21 interacting with gripping means 22, 23, 24 securely fastened to the various slats 3, 4, 5.
