PURPOSE:To prevent an IC card from illegal use by using the IC card as an effective one for transaction only when a transaction enabled code is set up on a recording area of the IC card by a card holder making a pair with the IC card. CONSTITUTION:Receiving power supply from the card holder 6, the IC card 1 waits (n1) the input of data. Since the initial data from the card holder 6 is card holder cipher, the data are compared with data stored in a memory area MA in the IC card, and at the coincidence of the ciphers, acknowledgement is sent to the card holder 6 (n4). Receiving the acknowledgement from the IC card 1, the card holder 6 sends a transaction permission code to the IC card 1 and the IC card 1 receives the transaction enabled code sets up the code in the area MB (n7). Then, the IC card 1 sends a transaction enabled code setting answer to the card holder 6 (n8) to end the processing. |
