PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid-metal-forged produce consisting of an ultrafine structure and having high quality by using ceramic molds to one or both of the male or female mold of a forming mold thereby widening the range for adjusting the cooling rate by a cooling mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The male mold a1 is formed of a heat resisting metal such as high chromium molybdenum steel and is disposed internaly with the cooling mechanism 1 and a heating mechanism 1'. The forming part a2' of the female mold a2 is formed of ceramics. The cooling mechanism 2 and a heating mechanism 3 are adequately disposed in said part a2'. A molten metal (m) is poured into the part a2' while the part a2' is adequately cooled and heated by the mechanism 2 and mechanism 3 of the mold a2 and thereafter the mold a1 is mated with the female mold. The metal (m) is cooled and pressurized until the temp. falls down to the solidifying range of the metal (m), by which the product is formed. |
