PURPOSE:To exactly give a given charge to ink droplets separating into ink columns and flying according to printing signals by setting up the parallel interval of the parallel electrocdes for charging according to the flying distance of the ink droplets. CONSTITUTION:The parallel interval (d) of parallel electrodes 4 for charging is set up according to the flying distance of ink droplets. The system consists of an ink jet port 2 and a pulse charge voltage controller 8 to apply a pulse voltage according to printing signals to the electrodes 4, and the interval (d) of the parallel electrodes 4 is set up to d=0.77lambda [where lambda is the interval between the tip (a') of ink column (a) and a ink droplet (b)]. A given charge according to printing signals can thus be exactly given to ink droplets flying from the ink column.
