PURPOSE:To utilize efficiently a transmission by providing a voice compressing/ expanding function, multiplex/dividing function of voice/data, switching function and switching signal sound notice/detection function to a digital multiplexer. CONSTITUTION:The voice compression/expansion function 11, the voice/data multiplex/dividing function 12, the switching function 13, and the switching signal sound notice/detecting function 14 are provided in the digital multiplexer 1. In using one channel of the digital transmission line for the transmission of voice only, the band width of 64kbs/channel is all used, while the data is transmitted, the multiplex/dividing function 12 of voice/data detects the presence of data transmission to control the switching function 13 and the switching signal sound notice/detection function 14 and a PCM voice code and data are multiplexed in the digital signal in the channel to attain transmission in one channel. |
