Rubber or plastic insulated cores are identified by a sleeve of plastic tape wound on spirally, and carrying identifying symbols on its inner surface. Various substances are suggested for the tape but fluoro-hydrocarbons are preferable because of their low friction coefficient. After winding, the tape is thermally formed into a continuous sheath.</p> |
