PURPOSE:To reduce a distortion rate, to increase an acoustic output to obtain good acoustic characteristics, as well as to reduce weight deviation in the diaphragm, further to eliminate problems concerned with quality control and to reduce the thickness of the speaker unit by using a Langmuir film as the diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:The Langmuir film (L-B film), that is, a solid film obtained by dripping a small amount of organic solvent containing an aliphatic acid on the water surface and heaping the film in layers on a solid substrate is used as the diaphragm 4. This L-B film can be formed with high orientation by applying a pressure in the horizontal direction to the film oriented on the water-air interface. When the film is used as a diaphragm, flexture strength is very large because of vertical orientation of the molecules to the film surface so that the diaphragm is not subjected to deformation or split vibrations during vibration. Since the thick film is produced by heaping single molecule films, extremely thin film can be produced to reduce the weight of the vibration system while it is also possible to obtain a large output sound pressure. Since the thickness of the film itself is determined by the length of the molecules that make up the L-B film film thickness can be controlled to the order of several angstroms by changing the length of the molecular chains. |
