PURPOSE:To measure the level, frequency, etc., of a noise generated by a brake in operation through a stationary test by using a roller which has small moment of inertia and a roller which has large moment of inertia and is attachable to and detachable from a shaft. CONSTITUTION:When the brake noise of a light automobile is measured, a clutch 9 is coupled, a speed reducing mechanism 10 is detached from the shaft 2, and an iron-made roller 3a is detached to establish a state wherein the moment of inertia is small, thereby taking a measurement by using only an aluminum-made roller 3b. When the noise test of a large truck is taken, the roller 3a is attached to the shaft 2 together with the roller 3b and the clutch 10 is disengaged to drive the rollers 3a and 3b at a low speed by using the speed reducing mechanism 10. In such a state, when a wheel which is rotated while placed on the roller 3a is braked, the inertial force of rotation from a motor 1 is applied to the roller 3a through the speed reducing mechanism 10, so braking wherein the brake is dragged because of large straight-movement inertia of the body of the large-sized truck, i.e. dragging type braking is obtained. |
