CONSTITUTION:The main body A of an immobilizing carrier is formed with a filamentary porous body 1 having many two-dimensional or three-dimensional pores 4 and many through-pores 3 having <=100mu diameter are formed in the filament 2 constituting the filamentary porous body 1 and having 0.1 - several mm diameter. Consequently, the surface area for depositing bacteria is increased, the immobilization of bacteria is improved and bacteria can be retained in high concn.
