PURPOSE:To make more precise corrections by correcting the optical axis shift between a couple of optical fiber cores continuously to an optimum value only by rotating a plug in a mounting stage where it is fitted to a sleeve adapter. CONSTITUTION:An attaching/detaching nut 8 is fitted to the sleeve adapter 6 while the plug 11 is screwed fully in the attaching/detaching nut 8. In this state, the plug 11 is turned back until the position where the loss of connection between optical fibers 1 and 1a measured by a measuring instrument is minimum. At the position where the connection loss is minimum, the attaching/ detaching nut 8 and plug 11 are fixed with a lock nut 17. At this time, the connection surface of a ferrule 2 is pushed out by a compression spring 16 and energized, so it is held in contact with the connection surface 4a of a ferrule 2a at any time.
