PURPOSE:To use plural marking units as mutually independent monochromatic image recording devices except when a copy is taken by providing a form conveying device among the marking units. CONSTITUTION:Respective image reading devices and image recording devices of an image processing system 25 are switched by a mode selector in black-and- white mode and gripper cams 27 in transfer drums of the respective marking units (K, C, M, and I) are moved to a position shown by a broken line. For example, when a black-and-white copy is taken by using the marking unit (K), a form is fed from a black-and-white mode paper feed tray 11, caught by the gripper of a gripper cam 26 after passing through a form guide baffle 18, and guided to between a photosensitive drum 2 and a transfer drum 10, so that a black toner image is transferred through a transfer corotron 29. Then, the form moves up between a guide 16 and the transfer drum and caught by the gripper of a gripper cam 27, and the form is discharged in a copy storage tray 19 after the image is fixed by a fixing device 12. |
