METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING PHOTOACOUSTIC PICTURE

PURPOSE:To attain highly efficient detection and read while using a photoacoustic signal by irradiating excited light on a photochromic material storing and recording picture information in a pulse form and generating a pressure wave in response to the stored picture information. CONSTITUTION:A film 2 having an original picture is arranged above photochromic glass 1 at first, visual light is irradiated on the glass 1 by a point light source from the upper part of the film 2 and the transmitted visual light is stored in and recorded on the glass 1. Then the glass 1 is adhered closely on the waveguide 4 of a pressure wave via a closely adhering material 1A and placed and a laser beam 5A generated from a laser light source 5 from the upper part is scanned in the main scanning direction shown in the arrow A via a galvano mirror 6. Then the glass 1 is moved in the sub-scanning direction shown in an arrow B succeedingly to apply 2-dimensional scanning. In this case, the pressure wave sent via the guide 4 is collected by a microphone 7 and the output is inputted to an output signal storage circuit 8 and then highly efficient detection and read by using the photoacoustic signal.
