PURPOSE:To execute filter operation within a short period by attaining the operation of a filter means of an optical image detector by an operating means in a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric conversion outputs A1-AN, B1-BN from a pair of image sensors SA, SB are digitized by an A/D conversion means and respective digital data E1-EN, F1-FN are sent to the microcomputer. In the microcomputer, the digital data E1-EN, F1-FN are filtered by the filter means 13 to find out added digital data G1-GP, H1-HP, and then the shears of the added digital data G1-GP, H1-HP are detected by an operating means 14, so that the display of focus adjusting state/the driving of a photographing lens can be executed similarly to a known focus detector.
