PURPOSE:To enable a belt o be interchanged without interrupting a rolling operation in a roll grinding device of a rolling mill by moving only a cartridge provided with grinding belt taking-up and unwinding devices axially of the roll when the grinding belt is interchanged. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge 10 provided with grinding belt taking-up and unwinding devices 8, 9 is mounted on a main guide beam 5 and an auxiliary guide beam 6 in the lower portion of a rolling mill housing to move axially of a operation roll. Also, a grinding device body 11 is mounted on said beams 5, 7 to press a grinding belt 12 against the operation roll 2. When the grinding belt 12 is interchanged, a grinding belt pressing member 51 and others are retreated to the rearmost position by a hydraulic pressure cylinder 56, and the cartridge 10 having the taking-up and unwinding devices set is moved to a required position at the rolling mill operation side by the operation of hydraulic pressure cylinder. |
