PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect whether the generation of corona discharge is present, by a method wherein antenna are arranged to a closed bus at every turn and a portable control unit is successively connected to each of the antennae. CONSTITUTION:The antenna lead circuit of a corona discharge detection apparatus is constituted by connecting the connector 6 mounted to the leading end of a rod 7 to the connector part 5b of each antenna provided in a duct 1. When the connector 6 comes against the antenna 5 receiving an electromagnetic wave following the generation of corona discharge, the electromagnetic wave is transmitted through a cable 8 as a signal to be inputted to the interface 9a of a portable control unit 9. A high frequency component is amplified by a signal processing part 9b and a low frequency component is removed by a filter to make it possible to discriminate said electromagnetic wave from one generated by other cause. Further, said electromagnetic wave is compared with a preset signal level by a discrimination part 9c and, when exceeds the set signal level, it is judged that corona discharge was generated.
