PURPOSE:To remove a low melting point compound in the combustion gas before it enters a convection heat transfer face and prevent a fouling trouble at the convection heat transfer face by providing a granular filter at the exit of a secondary combustion furnace continued from a slag tap combustion furnace. CONSTITUTION:A granular filter 10 is provided at the high temperature section in the exit section of a secondary combustion furnace 19 of a slag tap combustion furnace, and all of the combustion gas is made to pass through this granular filter 10 to remove low temperature melting point compounds of Na, Ca, K, V, etc. in the combustion gas by attaching them in molten state onto the surfaces of grains in the granular filter, and at the same time always a proper cavity ratio among granular grains is maintained by moving continuously from top to bottom the granular grains filling the granular filter and discharging from the bottom the amount of the granular grains which are the same amount as that supplied from the top.
