PICTURE SIGNAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain high speed recording and reproduction on a tape by using a synchronizing signal included in picture information so as to utilize a base band signal without using the modulation operation. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing head 13 extracts the information recorded on the 1st track of a cassette tape and a reproducing head 11 extracts the information recorded on the 2nd track of the cassette tape. Thus, a data signal (g) is reproduced by the reproducing head 11 and a synchronizing signal (f) obtained by the reproducing head 13 is inputted to a logic converter 12 together with a signal (h) via a synchronizing signal discriminating circuit 14. The logic converter 12 outputs the data signal (g) without changing its logic when the polarity of the synchronizing signal (f) is positive and outputs the data signal (g) while changing the logic when the polarity is negative. Thus, the signal is recorded/ reproduced by using the base band signal without the operation of modulation in recording the picture signal.
