PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has excellent thermal flow characteristics and adhesion to substrates and a high coefficient of vibration insulation over a wide temperature range, by blending a mixture of a specified vacuum residue and asphalt with a tackitying aid. CONSTITUTION:95-60 wt. % vacuum residue (a) having a penetration of 10-50, pref. 20-40 at 25 deg.C and a softening point of 50-70 deg.C, pref. 55-65 deg.C, obtd. at a reduced temperature at 1 atm. of 530 deg.C or above, pref. 560-570 deg.C during the course of the manufacture of oil products is mixed with 5-40 wt. % at least one asphalt (b) selected from among straight asphalt, blown asphalt and asphalt obtd. by propane deasphalting to obtain a mixture (A). 100 pts. wt. component A is blended with 0.1-10 pts. wt. tackifier (B) selected from among petroleum resins, thermoplastic rubber, flux oil and wax to obtain the title compsn. If desired, 60-30 wt. % said compsn. is mixed with 40-70 wt. % filler having a particle size of 200 mu or below.
